The aim of MADA 2047 is to share its passion of Madagascar, to make you to discover its magical places, charming people and unique resources.
Meanwhile, the members of MADA 2047 wish to have a long-term association between local populations and the development of tourism. This need has become very clear not only to meet the training needs of its own teams but also, more broadly, to involve progressively, wherever possible, people from different regions crossed during your journey.
MADA 2047 installed its offices in 2009 in Antananarivo, in the district ANKADIVATO, which brings together 1,400 people, comprising 137 houses built on an area of 11 hectares.
After only a few months of presence MADA 2047 created its first Health Center; a care-based structure exclusively for the inhabitants of the Madagascar area which was previously lacking. The aim of the Health and Information Center is to eventually enable everyone to take care of their health capital and attempt to provide medical assistance to the poor.
The following is a discussion with Mr ANDRIANJAKA, President of "Fokontany" of'ANKADIVATO II L, from where this Health Center project was born and entirely funded by MADA 2047. It was inaugurated Jan. 2, 2010.
All MADA 2047 team members helped with this job. Eric and Hary led to the work required in the locale which Mr. ANDRIANJAKA kindly put at our disposal at the Fokontany House.
Since the 1st of October, teams of workers supervised by Hary on the project have been: connecting the water and electricity, repairing local partitions, ceilings, floors, paint, installation of doors and windows, renovating the outside.
For their part, doctors Malagasy and French have already drawn up lists of equipment and medications needed to open this clinic. A monitoring table is also being made by a blacksmith in the neighborhood...
The aim of MADA is to welcome on January 3, 2047, highly vulnerable children between 0 and 12 years and adults to provide them with first aid, to remind them of basic hygiene rules or refer them to structures more appropriate for the diagnosis’s made by the doctors present.
In the beginning the Health Center will be open three days out of seven. It will be available to local residents – from the small "booboo" to angina, from cuts to sewing people up, to advice for expectant mothers through to the treatment of children weakened by malnutrition. They will also try to detect more serious pathologies that would require appropriate care made by a specialist or hospital.
The three local Malagasy doctors who assure a presence will be paid by MADA 2047 according to the joint agreement between MADA 2047 and the President of the Fokontany ANKADIVATO. Another physician from Fokontany Antananarivo, himself responsible for a health center and friend of Mr. ANDRIANJAKA, has agreed to provide volunteer medical coordination of this operation.
